Мысли Всмятку

Ad Majorem Annae Gloriam

I saw Troy today
The movie is very visual and very well made, and actors are doing good job. The plot, on the other hand, is a "very wide-branched cranberry". Meaning, I didn't appreciate the changes. Also, I have noticed that US movies on the Trojan war are always from the Trojan side, while Russian retellings are from the Greek side. I personally side with the Greeks. And Odysseus. Intelligent, cunning, slightly evil man - that's what a good man should be like :)

As far as actors, Brad Pitt is still as good as ever. Eric Bana makes a believable Hector. That blue-eyed man, friend of Achilles (Eudorus, I believe), is quite striking. However, it is Sean Bean who shined. His Odysseus is most like what I have imagined from the books, of all the Russian and foreign movies I have seen. And of course I have been a fan of his for over ten years, since I saw the Sharpe series for the first time. Why can't he be ten-fifteen years younger? Heck, even if he is more than twice my age, he is attractive enough.

To calm down, a couple memesCollapse )
