First of all, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers on my friend's page!
Yesterday, I bought salad over at Burger King for lunch, and the lady at the counter asked, whether I was ready for the Mother's day. I said I wasn't with a guilty look on my face. Then she made me promise, that I will buy nicest card in the world, if it took me two hours to find it. So I bought my mom a very nice card (to which I added my own text). It's good to work in a place that carries Hallmark cards. :) With a 15% employee discount. :) I also bought her a couple nice brooches at SoHo (it was hard to find something nice - I looked at five different stores, but most of the stuff there is so vulgar... It looks like cheap junk it is.), a box of nice chocolates (with nuts - she loves chocolate with nuts) and flowers. I feel I have fulfilled my promise to the Burger King lady :)
Also, back in April I bought opera tickets for us, for La Traviata. So that's where we went today, while dad stayed home - he was just discharged from the hospital yesterday. He is feeling fine, but isn't quite up to going out yet. It was a very nice production - the last one by this arts director. And the baritone who sang Giorgio Germont was absolutely and totally swoonworthy. I don't remember ever hearing such a gorgeous voice before. And baritone has always been my favorite voice. Such a pity most big parts are written for tenors.

Except this one, because I like it so much. It's not that often that I like the way I look on a photograph.
