It started, it started!

They are coming! That scary season of mid- to late summer when predatory cucumbers come out in numbers and just wait there, in the shadows, ready to jump out at you when you least suspect it has started! Yes, I went on the first all-out cucumber hunt today, and got a basketful of the little green critters. I am happy to report that most of them were properly disposed of, and only a few remain captive, awaiting their fate in our family fridge. Some were intentionally left loose in the junge, so that they might make younger cucumbers group around them, and we can catch them all at once.

That was the cucumber saga by yours truly. I still remember last year, when I had to walk around, asking unsuspecting coworkers, whether they like cucumbers and then dumping bagfuls of them into their hands.

Today was my first day off in a while, and I can't even say what a pleasure it is to not have to do anything and just relax away. Tomorrow will be an easy day, just five hours, in a slow place, and very close to home. Before work, I need to hunt cucumbers some more, and then spray everything with bug spray (something I don't trust my parents with :)). Maybe I will go look for nice red dress slippers to go with my cocktail dress... That I am not sure about, and if I will sleep as desperately sleepy tomorrow morning as I felt today, it's not going to happen.
