Update from the Arizona Desert

Just a quick update to show that I am still alive.

I am actually quite enjoying it here. The coworkers and the patients are very very nice, I am learning a little about Apache culture and a few words of their language (my throat wasn't really made for these sounds... I am only managing to say one of five words I attempt). My trailer is a big three bedroom house where I live gloriously by myself (nice!). I am being fed good food twice daily for free. Air smells of ponderosa pine and freshness. I walk to work - 7 minutes down the hill. I have seen a bear out in the mountains. I am learning a lot. This is shaping up to be an excellent rotation. The mountains are quite beautiful, and actually remind me of the Urals in a way, must be the pine forest - who cares that here earth is red and pines are a different kind, and the sky looks different?

Overall, during the rain today I have been thinking (I don't do anything else well if it rains), and decided that I can in all honesty say that I am happy. And have been happy for most of my life, with this mindset being only interrupted occasionally by unpleasant events, never more than for a few days at a time.
