Our pharmacy manager, being a great guy that he is, gave my friend and me $20 worth of Cheeseburger in Paradise gift cards each for Christmas. Neither of us had been there before, so we decided that Saturday was a great time to go and try it, especially since my friend's best childhood friend came over to visit her from St. Louis. So we went :)

It was fun... The food portions are too big, of course, as in all American restaurants, but it was good. Since I am not fond of beef, I went with Peruvian Pork Wrap. It was pretty good, tender and not spicy. The sauce had cheese or perhaps sour cream base and some herbs I cannot name. I tried yams chips - it was the first time I tried sweet potatoes in any form. I am not sure that's something I like to eat.

The best part was mixed drinks. I had Montserrat Volcano (vodka, amaretto, southern comfort, orange juice, mango juice, and something else am forgetting). Very good.

Then we went over to my friend's apartment, and sat there talking, drinking tea and watching movies until 3 am. It was fun :) We watched "Noises Off" - it is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen, I laughed so hard my mascara started running because I had tears in my eyes. :) If you haven't seen it, I highly recomment that you do. The other movie was one of Katharine Hepburn movies, I believe "The Philadelphia Story"

The only bad part of the night was that Leo (my friend's gorgeous, though rather overweight, orange tabby) was cranky and didn't want to watch the movies on the couch with me, preferring to be on a chair by himself. He wasn't biting, but he didn't want to be petted, and my strength is not enough to hold on to a 14 pound cat trying to escape from my arms :)
